A Shanghai-based native-English speaker who reads, writes and speaks Mandarin Chinese, Clancey is a recognized subject matter expert on the development of private healthcare services and healthcare reform in China. She has more than 20 years of international experience working with both start-ups and multinational companies to establish and grow businesses in Asia, particularly in the healthcare services, pharma and consumer health sectors in the PRC.
Clancey maintains a deep understanding of China’s current market and regulatory dynamics and reimbursement environment and the factors that drive decision making among patients, payers and providers. Through positions of increasing responsibility, she has developed clear expertise in defining market needs and strategic planning to design paths to growth, both organically and through M&A; strategic resourcing and forward-planning skills aimed at proactively identifying the optimal organizational structure for development; devising solutions, systems and shared services structures which create the infrastructure to rectify process bottlenecks and operational challenges; building, growing and leveraging cohesive and dynamic multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural HCP and corporate teams; and engaging government, community and policy stakeholders and strategic partners around shared goals.
Clancey holds a BA in political science and Mandarin Chinese from Middlebury College, and a Master of Public Health with a focus on Health Policy and Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
