She has had more than 10 years of experience in biomedical R&D, clinical management in healthcare and pharmaceutical industry at Merck, and over 6 years in international management consulting/coaching, training and higher education.

She recently served as a cross-cultural trainer and leadership coach for expatriates. Linda currently functions as an international management consultant and trainer at The Institute. She is also an Adjunct instructor at the University of Phoenix facilitating courses in business communication for healthcare professionals.

Linda is an International Business MBA graduate from Thunderbird School of Global Management, a Biomedical Science PhD from the University of Tennessee, and is certified in International Organizational Development from the Gestalt Institute.

Rick is a seasoned corporate executive with over 25 years of experiences in developing and managing businesses for multinational companies as well as local ventures in China or related to China. The following is a brief list of his previous jobs:

Rick received his Master of Science Degree in Statistics from University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1990, and Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University.

As a Chinese national who received education and career training in the US, while worked in China for 20 years, Rick has comprehensive understanding of China and knowledge of doing business in China, and has built up a strong track record of successful new business development in China. Since 2013, Rick has joined Shirley Lei to develop training programs on Energy Management, which he has a passion for.

Besides professional experiences, Rick has particular interests and studies on history, economics and politics, especially in the comparisons between the West and China.

Kristen Koziak is an experienced college professor, portfolio implementation specialist, and fitness instructor. Driven by a passion for helping others to reach their potential. As an Assistant Professor, her goals include engaging the students, helping them to understand the material, and challenging them to think beyond the text. In addition to her primary job functions, her former employee, Oppenheimer Capital, has recognized Kristen for her extraordinary commitment to Operational Excellence.

Kristen brings 20 years of industry experience. She has worked in the higher education industry for 10 years, gaining experience in teaching a variety of business courses, communicating with students with a wide variety of work and life experience. Additionally, she has 10 years of experience working in the corporate environment where she managed the equity portion of assets. There she communicated directly with upper level management, analysts, and traders, among others.

Van Fleet’s Asia career spans ten years based in Japan (1991-2000) and thirteen in greater China (to present). He has extensive experience throughout the region in education, business development, operations and marketing. Van Fleet currently serves as Assistant Dean, Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, and Executive Director of the Global Executive MBA in Shanghai (GEMBA), a collaboration between the Marshall School and the Antai College of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. For the past ten years, he has served either as leader of the GEMBA program or as adjunct faculty and supervisor of internationalization for the Antai College.

Previous to beginning a career in academia in 2003, Van Fleet led two marketing consultancies, one in Taipei and one in Shanghai, and served as Asia Pacific marketing and communications manager for GE’s healthcare division, based in Tokyo, from 1996 to 2000. A regular op-ed contributor for the China Economic Review and a reviewer/contributor for the Journal of International Business Education, Van Fleet speaks and writes often about business, education and society in China and East Asia. His book Tales of Old Tokyo, a lighthearted look at the city’s history from 1853 to 1964, will be published in 2014.

Weino is a TV news reporter, model and fashion designer from New York City, with a storied career that spans a range of media and public roles. She is currently a co-owner of the exclusive T8 restaurant in Shanghai, Xintiandi. Her talents extend to other realms of media, where she serves as the Ambassador of Miss & Mrs Earth China and InterNations Shanghai, and as China’s online live-streaming presenter the American retail giant, Target.

As entrepreneur she created the fashion label “Weino” for the American market and designed contemporary women cloth being recognized by Fashion magazines, TV and newspapers.

Based on her rich experience and bubbly personality, she has provided numerous presentations and coaching sessions related to lifestyle, personal development, image and fashion topics.

Weino graduated from New York State University, Fashion Institute with a Bachelor Degree for Fashion Design. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Jeff's professional background includes both line and staff roles in operations, supply chain, and organizational leadership positions. He has served as an instructor both for a professional society and corporate clients, and is a recognized master instructor by APICS.

In most of his engagements, Jeff has served to lead and mentor teams in transition that face the dual challenges of market change and the integration of new tools into the organization. As a teacher, one of his favorite statements is I've not just read about this in a book…I've applied it in the real world for more than 30 years.

Jeff is a graduate of the Universities of Tennessee and North Carolina where he earned a Bachelor of Science (with honors) in Operations Management, and a Master of Business Administration.

Jeff divides his time between multiple consulting groups, real estate ventures, and teaching. He and his spouse enjoy cooking & eating, music and travel (particularly to places that include beaches and warm water).

Over the past twenty years, Alex has cultivated a diverse professional background. Since leaving Master's studies to become a Producer for EA Sports he has taken on various challenges, working with multinational companies, academic institutions, and on private contracts around North America and Asia, including a series of positions in Training and Management in China. Initially working as a language instructor, Alex soon transitioned into management as the Director of Studies for a prestigious private school in Shanghai, before transitioning to the business sector as a Business Development Director, General Manager and Regional Manager. Concurrently, he taught International Management for the University of Northern Virginia-Jiaotong University EMBA program, and became a highly respected corporate trainer and executive coach working with managers at various levels and professional staff for numerous corporations covering a wide range of sectors (e.g. Yum!, Target, Scania, Solectron, ICI).

Richard served in various types of leadership roles in the retail industry. His leadership experience consists of progressive roles of responsibility as a Regional Manager, Store Manager, Marketing Manager and Operations Manager. He also has extensive experience as an executive in customer-facing roles in a sales and leadership capacity.

Aside from educational and leadership interests, Richard has a passion for continual learning. Nic is a published author, professor, PhD candidate, entrepreneur, and holds an international MBA. He has significant Big Four and international experience working directly in the Chinese financial markets. He is also a startup investor and adviser.

Nic's expertise includes business development, development of educational curricula, risk management, China strategy, cross-cultural and cross-functional team improvement, financial analysis, market research, portfolio management, process modeling, and wealth management. He is verbally proficient in Mandarin Chinese.

Nic earned his International MBA degree from the #1 ranked international business school in the United States, the University of South Carolina Moore School of Business. I also successfully completed USC-Sonoco Lean Six Sigma Green Belt project and exam.

Bryan is an experienced business professional. After graduating from college, Bryan joined IBM and began a long and successful career in sales and sales management. “I see sales less as selling and more as educating. If your clients are educated and excited about your product, it sells itself,” he says. Using this methodology, Bryan spent many years consulting clients and teaching colleagues.

Bryan achieved his Cambridge CELTA certification in 2012 and has been teaching to adult learners of English since 2013. Lani's professional background includes positions of leadership in the telecommunications and semiconductor industries, where she has lead teams in the negotiation and administration of contracts for goods and services spanning the globe. More recently, she has enjoyed serving as a Professor in an MBA program instructing others in the area of Human Performance Technologies.

She recently served as the Vice President of Program Impact and Evaluation for GSNETX, where she worked to develop strategies and tactics to develop the next generation of leaders in science and technology fields. This is work she continues in her current position as Director in the University of Texas system.

In her free time, Lani serves as a quality systems auditor for the state of Texas' quality program. She loves travel, being outdoors, and spending time with her friends and family near and far.

Mechelle’s professional background is in the areas of Nursing, Banking/Finance, Business Administration, Government Contracting/Purchasing and Supply Chain Logistics.

Currently Mechelle is a Supervisor in Government Contracting/Purchasing/Supply Chain Logistics and a college professor. Mechelle specializes in dealing with the instruction of students in a global environment. Mechelle’s background in Business Administration and Banking involved various mergers and acquisitions while working in a virtual global environment.

Mechelle is currently pursuing her PHD in Leadership and Education at Northcentral University and is a graduate of Ohio Dominican University with a BA in Business Administration magna cum laude and a MBA magna cum laude.

In Mechelle’s free time she likes to bowl, run, garden, ride her motorcycle and engage in professional photography. Mechelle also loves the beach and spends a lot of time near the ocean whenever possible.

An Australian by birth, Anne is an archaeologist who has lived and worked for many years in the USA, Middle East and Europe. She has excavated ancient cities, written about the origins of civilization, and lectured in many of the world’s finest institutions.

At the University of Southern California and James Madison University, Anne specialized in teaching about international cultures and developing the communication skills of her students.

Anne earned her PhD at the University of Chicago in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. She is a keen gardener in the warm months, but during the snowy winters of Maine she enjoys indoor activities. She writes, cooks, and restores antique furniture and is a big fan of American football.

Kristian’s professional background has been in the insurance and financial services sector serving individual and business clients for the past 15 years. He has also been adjunct faculty member teaching university students in this capacity for the past 7 years.



As a financial consultant, Kristian has found satisfaction helping clients secure their future by offering solutions for their insurance and retirement needs. He currently teaches in the fields of international business, economics, organizational behavior, and cultural diversity.



Kristian is a graduate of Baker Center for Graduate Studies and Taylor University where he earned an MBA with an International Business concentration and a BA/Environmental Science in International Studies with a Spanish Language and Literature concentration.

Armella is a global visionary & innovative leader with a 16+ years of both corporate and academic setting in Financial Markets from Wall Street sector, New York. She worked as an Education Consultant in China for universities & Iraq as a Business Lecturer for Parliament/Government officials.

Her roles included Director of Human Resources/Compliance and Corporate Lecturer for IT firms. She serves on various non-profit organizations that benefit global outreach.

Her current Humanitarian role involves working with refugee women that have been affected by abusive and war zone environments. Her passion of Plato’s verses Confucius lead is to awaken the desires of every apprentice to gain wisdom for themselves.

Armella is a graduate of Rockland University, a dual degree holder with an MBA in Business & Finance. Further studies included Financial Planning in New York, and TEFL Certified in Chicago.

Balance is key to achievement. Her free time is best enjoyed long scenic walks, meditation, the ocean, nature, various music and writing. Her personal touch to life is photography, gluten free culinary, and astronomy.

Shiv Kumar is a certified cross-cultural trainer with extensive working experience in China. He has also lived in Australia and Russia as a student.

Shiv has a bilingual fluency in English and Hindi. He frequently speaks on cross-cultural and corporate topics related to doing business in China and India.
Due to his own rich experience in living in four countries, he is very keen on intercultural training activities and workshops.

Until recently, Shiv was managing training and diversity division of a Chinese company that is going to expand in Indian market. In the United States, Stavroula has worked for leading entertainment conglomerates such as E! Entertainment Television, Paramount Pictures, and DirecTV. In 2001, the well-known advertising firm, TBWA recruited her, and she relocated to Athens, Greece to head up the company's television division. Stavroula collaborated with two of the leading television networks in Greece - Mega Channel and Antenna TV - where she was responsible for creating their most successful branding campaigns.

Currently, Stavroula teaches marketing communication courses for the Business College of Athens. In the USA, she teaches online graduate courses in the Department of Humanities at Tiffin University and the Knight School of Communication at Queens University of Charlotte. Stavroula brings her enthusiasm for teaching, and her international business experience and insight to corporate training.

In addition to her role as an online business coach at ILE, Julie has taught at school districts in Massachusetts, Washington and Colorado, where she focused on helping students overcome language and cultural barriers, as well as successfully learn and understand English. Rita started Nave Media in 2013, a Marketing & Business Consulting Company, to service small to medium size businesses in the New York Hudson Valley Area.

Aside from running her own company Rita is also a certified Zumba Instructor; BodyCombat, Bodypump, CX Worx Fitness Instructor as well as a Classical Piano Teacher. She trained to be a piano teacher with The Royal Conservatory of Toronto from the age of 6. She also enjoys Tennis on the weekends and spending quality time with her 10 year old son.

Rita graduated from the University of British Columbia in Canada with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Marketing.

Keith is a graduate of University of Phoenix where he earned a BA and MA in Health Administration/Information Systems. Keith is certified by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners in the field of electrophysiology (CEPS), and is also a registered Radiologic Technologist.

Keith began his career in radiologic imaging before transitioning into the industry of medical sales and devices, providing him with over 10 years of healthcare industry experience. Within the arena of healthcare, Keith has held various positions providing him with skills applicable to both the operating room, and the business suite.

Keith brought his strong work ethic and focus to his recent role of Senior Clinical Consultant for St. Jude Medical Corporation. As a clinical expert, Keith provides sales and clinical support to various physician groups in multiple territories.

In his spare time, Keith enjoys spending time with family and friends. Whenever possible, Keith loves being outdoors and strives to stay active.

Jeoff is a graduate of Capella University where he earned a Ph.D. in Organization and Management with a specialization in Leadership. He also has an MBA from Lindenwood University, and a BS in Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

Jeoff has enjoyed a career in the aerospace industry for over 30 years and led engineering teams in Supplier Management, Robotic Systems Development and Test, Production Engineering, Logistics Engineering, and Depot Operations.

He recently served as Manager of a Supplier Management team with responsibility for ensuring that suppliers meet production requirements while minimizing costs. He implemented proactive processes to address supplier issues before they actually occur in order to optimize the quality of suppliers’ products and their ability to meet delivery commitments.

Jeoff enjoys hiking when he gets the opportunity to do so and is an avid fisherman. He is also a big jazz and gospel music fan.

Dr. Sharlyn Moore is the President and CEO for Sterling Marketing, Management and Consulting. Previous to launching her own business, Dr. Moore directed the marketing initiatives and membership growth for the National Club Association (NCA), a non-profit lobby group established to protect the best interest of the Private Club Industry. Before NCA, she managed the global customer advocacy programs for Verizon Business Information Security Solutions. During her tenure with Verizon Business, she was responsible for leading and developing global strategic customer programs across a variety of marketing initiatives, which included the development and execution of Customer Advisory Boards, as well as leveraging customer content across a variety of channels.

Prior to Verizon Business, Dr. Moore held a variety of roles within the hospitality industry to include vice president of operations, regional director of sales and marketing, and director of operations. In addition to a specialization in all aspects of operations, sales, and marketing, she assumed the fiscal responsibilities of overseeing multi-million dollar budgets, property renovations, large project management assignments, strategic marketing plan development, and the execution through various integrated marketing and public relations initiatives. Dr. Moore has written articles and book chapters regarding hospitality operations, sales and marketing, customer service expectations, customer relationship building and leadership.

When not working, Dr. Moore enjoys reading, walking her dogs, traveling, and enjoying a good movie.

Kathy Sulianling Mulcahy is a Data Analyst at Geomni/Verisk Analytics. She has over ten years of experience in geospatial analyses, geodatabase design, GIS applications, and infrastructure. Using the latest remote sensing and machine learning technologies, Kathy applies her knowledge of aerial surveying and geodetic principles to provide technical expertise to various geospatial tasks. Kathy’s responsibilities at Geomni includes flight planning and processing, trajectory planning, image collection assistance, the processing and correction of GPS data, exterior orientation parameter (EOP) creation and refinement, workflow optimization, photogrammetric triangulation, quality control of aerial acquisition, and all other processing related activities.

Kathy was a Ph.D. candidate at Kansas State University where she earned a Master of Arts in cultural Geography. She received her BS in Geography Education and BA in English Literature from Harbin Normal University. Kathy’s professional background includes geographic information systems, cultural geography, population, and economic geography, climate change visualization and communication sciences. Within the world of geography, Kathy pays close attention to the location, distribution, and spatial organization of economic and global business activities that tie into the study of cultural and environmental interactions. She has had more than many years of teaching and researching experience related to exam preparation for TACHS, HSPT, SSAT, and SAT. She also tutors geospatial related courses at high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels in her spare time.

Matt holds an MBA from Regis University as well as a BA in Journalism and Asian Studies from the University of Northern Colorado..

Matt has worked in a variety of business fields including marketing, sales, consulting and business development. He has extensive experience working with both startups and established companies in the USA and China. In addition to his business experience, Matt has worked in international education as an instructor, course designer and administrator.

In the United States, Matt worked in several senior business roles including as a manager for Beyond Light Studios where he established client relations and coordinated marketing programs. Most recently, Matt served as the SAT Coordinator and a university programs manager for Tengda Educational Consultants in Zhengzhou, China. His role entailed teaching students from a variety of backgrounds how to be more effective and confident communicators in English.

For more than half a decade, Matt has been living and working in China. He has also resided in California, Denver, Chicago, Boston and the UK. His 20 years of avid musicianship included two years of study at Berklee College of Music. He enjoys creative writing, exploring nature and following the ups and downs of his favorite English football team.

David, an English teacher, math teacher, and writer, is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, where he earned a BA, cum laude, in mathematics.

Dave’s career has evolved over three areas: He has worked as an actuarial analyst in the employee benefits field, an English and math teacher for foreign language learners, and a writer on mathematics and other topics.

In his work for Fortune 500 company Aetna Life Insurance company, and other niche actuarial consulting firms, Dave used his mathematics training and communication talents to help U.S. and international companies manage their employee benefit obligations both locally and abroad.

Dave, who earned his TEFL certificate from Chiang Mai University Language Institute with “Distinction”, brings his thoughtful approach combined with enthusiasm, love of teaching, and creativity to language learning.

In his free time, Dave loves to spend time with his family, tour in Thailand, watch the occasional action and mystery movie, and improve his Thai language abilities

Elaine is a communications specialist with experience in both print and broadcast media. She received her bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, which has one of the strongest journalism and business communications programs in the region. Upon graduating, she was awarded by her professors the highest honor achievable in her field of study. Elaine has enjoyed a diverse career that has consistently required mastering various styles of writing, including journalism, legal writing, and technical writing.

While working as a media and communications specialist with St. Louis University, she continued studying in the university’s master’s program in communications. As a communications specialist, she taught professionals how to promote their work by communicating with wider audiences, translating their work into layman’s terms and organizing public events to draw attention to their causes.

In the late 1990s, Elaine moved to the Boston area where she broadened her professional horizons by becoming a full-time enhanced family care provider for an individual with disabilities, earning a specialized certificate in caregiving from Boston University. Elaine’s experience navigating and collaborating with various businesses and service agencies allows her to converse on a wide range of topics.

When not working, Elaine loves reading non-fiction and spending time with her husband, three children and dog—often hiking in the woods.

Christine has been teaching for 25 years, including 5 years teaching in Korea and Taiwan with 3 years at Kyung Hee University & Yonsei University. She also worked with executives at the Bank of Korea and other Korean companies to improve their English skills.

Christine currently teaches High School Science in the Antelope Valley north of Los Angeles and tutors students.

Christine holds a Masters of Education with certifications in Science, Social Sciences, and Special Education and speaks Spanish in addition to her native English.

In her free time Christine likes to read, cook, and enjoy time with family and friends. She also volunteers her time with various service organizations. She loves to travel and hopes to visit Antarctica and Africa to have visited all 7 continents.

Laura’s professional background consists of being an educator, administrator as well as an author and artist. She has also served as a curator to an art museum.

Laura currently serves as Department Chair in Digital Graphic Design, Web Design and Marketing and Social Media Management at Antonelli College Online. She has also published three books and exhibited her artwork around the world, including the Florence Biennale in 2009.

Laura is a graduate of Art and Art History with additional interests in English and Foreign Languages.

In Laura’s spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening and preserving food, painting, studying Spanish and traveling to other countries.

Brenda is a graduate of De Paul University and has an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.

Brenda’s professional career spans both business and higher education. As a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Hewitt Associates, she accumulated more than 10 years of experience in management consulting where she served multiple Fortune 100 companies.

In the world of higher education, Brenda was previously the Dean of Students at American Intercontinental University and more recently taught business courses as an Adjunct Faculty member for the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE.

In her free time, Brenda enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and playing sports. She loves to try different foods and loves to watch movies.

I taught Basic English and Writing for Academic Purposes at the university level, and literature and ESL at the high school level. Prior to my teaching experience, I have more than 15 years of experience in technology and software sales and business development. I owned and managed my own technology company for ten years.

As a result, I have varied and rich business experiences to share with you. I enjoy working with students one-on-one and in groups. You will find that I am an encouraging teacher with excellent listening skills that enable me to ask you more effective questions.

I graduated from Georgia State University with a Masters Degree in Reading, Language and Literacy, and a focus in English as a Second Language (ESL).

I live in Georgia in the United States. I am married with two boys of my own and two step-daughters. I have a dog, Coco, and a cat, Mr. Moto. In my spare time, I love to paint portraits.
